Core Curriculum

The University of Texas at Tyler

Texas State Core Curriculum

All students seeking their start baccalaureate caste from UT Tyler are required to satisfy all requirements of the Texas Cadre Curriculum. The Core Curriculum objectives serve as the UT Tyler student learning outcomes for collegiate-level general instruction competencies of all undergraduate degree programs.

The Core Curriculum is divers in the Texas Education Code of the Texas Constitution as "the curriculum in liberal arts, humanities, and sciences and political, social, and cultural history that all undergraduate students of an institution of higher pedagogy are required to complete before receiving an academic undergraduate degree."

Completion of an Associate'south degree, even from a Texas public institution, does non necessarily guarantee completion of the cadre curriculum . Core Curriculum completion must be noted as a stand-solitary item on the official transcript from a Texas public institution to be considered.

Full general education requirements completed at private or out-of-land institutions are not the equivalent of, and may non excuse a student from completing, the Core Curriculum. Each class completed toward full general education requirements will be assessed to make up one's mind if it meets requirements within UT Tyler's Cadre Curriculum, and transferred accordingly. This remains truthful even if an Acquaintance'south caste has been conferred.

Core Curriculum Transient Enrollment for UT Tyler Students

Students wishing to consummate coursework toward the Core Curriculum at another institution while enrolled as a degree-seeking educatee at UT Tyler, known every bit transient or concurrent enrollment, must file an Undergraduate Transient Form. Failure to consummate the certificate prior to enrolling in courses elsewhere may consequence in credits being ineligible for transfer back to UT Tyler.
